Some food for thought: when fish are scaled so that people can put them on their dinner plates, what happens to the leftover material? That’s the question that one student at the Royal College of Art, Erik de Laurens, asked himself – and the result was an ingenious new substance that he calls “fish scale plastic.” Using the surprisingly beautiful substance, we created 3 pairs of goggles, tumblers and even a table with an inlay of a fish.
